100 Word Memoir
It’s 10:00 in Seoul
Trembling feet. Sweaty palms. I was waiting for the call that would change it all.
9:00 in Singapore. 10:00 in Seoul. Almost.
Walking up the hill, a familiar weight settled in my palms. Not my phone, but my grandfather's comforting hand.
Guiding my chopsticks, steadying my brush.
His presence, lingering. His words, echoing. His absence, consuming.
Just as I reached the top of the hill, “Dad” flashed on the screen.
I fought to steady my trembling hands, holding my phone against my ear.
His sigh, my silence.
Then his words.
“It's 10:00 in Seoul.”
